Second Grade Visits Fort Delaware

Ms. Milk’s second grade students took a trip to Fort Delaware yesterday, where they got learn about colonial history!

Fort Delaware was constructed in the mid-19th century, initially to protect the cities of Wilmington and Philadelphia from enemy attack.  The site also housed Confederate prisoners of war during the Civil War.

The second graders were able to see different tools and materials used when the Fort was created. They also learned about the history of Fort Delaware and were able to ask their own questions about the site and time.

Our students had a fun and knowledgeable time, thank you for having us!
