Congratulations to our D-H Eagles Softball team on their NYS Regional victory over Chapel Field Christian yesterday! The Lady Eagles played a solid game all around to defeat the Lady Lions 5-0 on a beautiful evening at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park in Binghamton.
Deposit-Hancock took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, when Amanda Ray singled in Pagen Macumber from second base. Both teams played solid defense, as the score remained 1-0 until the 4th inning. The Lady Eagles added 3 more runs in the 4th, with another insurance run in the 5th. Olivia Johnston was 3 for 3 at the plate, with a double, 1 run and 1 rbi. Amanda Ray and Abby Russel each added 2 hits and 1 rbi, while Sarah Gross and Haley Begeal also knocked singles.
Addison Makowski was dominant on the hill for D-H, with 18 strikeouts and 1 lone hit given up in the complete game shutout. With the victory, the Lady Eagles head to Long Island next week for the NYS Class D Semi-Finals. We will update you with more information throughout the week.
