Congratulations to the D-H Softball team on their 11-0 sectional victory over CV-S/SS in Deposit last night!
The #1 seeded Lady Eagles had a MASSIVE 3rd inning, scoring 9 of their 11 runs. They scored 2 more in the 5th, earning 9 hits in total. Olivia Johnston was 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 rbi. Averiona Curtis went 2 for 2 at the plate, scoring a run. D-H also received hits from Sarah Gross, Amanda Ray and Abby Russell. On the mound, Addison Makowski was lights out, striking out 20! She gave up a single hit on the day on an otherwise perfect game.
The Lady Eagles also had their Senior Recognition, where they honored 12th graders Averiona Curtis (Hancock) and Abby Russell (Deposit). Thank you, ladies, for the years of hard work you have put into the softball program!
Softball is back in action on Thursday, taking on #5 seeded Windham Ashland Jewett. Game start will be at 4:30 p.m. in Deposit. Great work, keep it up!!
