SINGLE POINT OF ENTRY

Greetings parents and visitors to HCSD!

We
hope the New Year is off to a wonderful start! Over the winter recess
we were able to add some additional safety measures to ensure the safety
and security of our students and staff.

Beginning Monday January 22nd, 2024 the following procedures will be put into place:

Procedures:

  • Each building has a single point of entry once the school day has begun.
  • From 8:00am to 3:30pm students and visitors may enter the following locations:

Elementary: Main Entrance
High School/Middle School: Second floor/District Office entrance

  • Parents/guardians and visitors should schedule an appointment prior to visiting a school to ensure entry (unless we are hosting a building wide event).
  • The Teacher and Principal should be made aware of all visits scheduled so we can expect you and reach your party quickly.
  • Visitors will buzz in, state their name and purpose of their visit.
  • Visitors may be required to provide identification, so please make sure you have it handy.
  • Visitors without an appointment may not be granted immediate access to the building and may be asked to wait before being allowed to enter.
  • Upon entrance, all visitors must sign in on the sign in sheets in the vestibule, note the time, and fill out a badge/label. The badge/label must be visible at all times so staff can easily identify you as a visitor.
  • All visitors must sign out and exit the same entryway they came in.
  • Parents dropping off or picking up children will be expected to follow the same procedures for sign in/out.
  • In the event you need to drop off an item for your student (lunch bag, instrument), other than medication, you may leave the item labeled in the vestibule/waiting area and we will make sure your child gets it.
  • If you are dropping off or administering medication, parents/guardians need to call the school nurse to schedule a time and the nurse will be called to the vestibule upon arrival.

Presenters/ Volunteers:

  • Visitations by those other than parents/guardians will be arranged through the Principal

Protecting our Wildcat family is our first priority! Thank you for helping keep our staff and students safe!
