Welcome!

Jo-Anne Smith, Lunch Manager Children need healthy meals to learn.
The Hancock Central School District participates in the National School Lunch Program.

A complete lunch may be purchased in the school cafeteria by students grades K - 4 for $2.00 and in grades 5-12 for $2.25.  This is the Type A lunch which meets the requirements of the National School Lunch Program for which the Hancock Central School District has been approved.  The Type A lunch is a guide to well-balanced lunches.  It is designed as an aid in planning lunches that will meet the child's nutritional needs.  The Type A Lunch contains as a minimum meat or meat alternate (2 oz.); vegetables and fruits (a 3/4 cup serving consisting of two or more vegetables or fruits or both, in raw or cooked form); bread (one slice of whole grain or enriched bread; or one serving of other bread such as biscuits, rolls, muffins, made of whole grain or enriched meal flour); whole milk (1/2 pint fluid whole mild served as a beverage).

Some families find it impossible to pay for their child's breakfast and lunch.  If you cannot afford to pay the full price, Family Eligibility  Criteria have been established by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture for meals under the National School Lunch Program.  Please refer to the "Free and Reduced Price School Meals" to the left for more information.
